Good team effort by Raptors leads to 91-84 win over Magic

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Thursday 14 December 2006 at 2:22 am

Rookies playing well for Raptors

Blogged under Front Page, Rookie Reports by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 12 December 2006 at 10:46 pm

Andrea Bargnani was the #1 pick in the NBA draft and he’s been playing well off the bench.  He has played 20 games and has averaged 18.6 minutes, 8.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game so far this season.  He will probably have his minutes increase as the year goes on.

Jorge Garbajosa wasn’t even drafted and now he’s starting for the Raptors.  He is very active on the court and is tough around the rim.  He has played in 21 games and has averaged 28.4 minutes, 8.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.2 steals per game so far this season.  Garbajosa is a keeper and the Raptors deserve an A for doing their homework on this guy.

PJ Tucker hasn’t got to play to much as he has only played in 9 games and has averaged 3.5 minutes, 0.8 points and 0.7 rebounds per game.

Uros Slokar has played even less than Tucker, as he has played in only 2 games and has averaged 3.6 minutes and 1.0 rebound per game.

Bargnani and Garbajosa look like keepers and possibly even future stars.  It seems as if the Raptors had a very good draft.
